Okay, who here remembers how to macrame? I remember learning to macrame as a child in the 70s. My son and his friends would make these friendship bracelets out of hemp, I watched one day, and thought, "Hmm, that sure reminds me of macrame". However, when I confront the kids with this thought, I was informed that this was not macrame because that was "Soooo 70s" and they would not dream of doing that. Well, I laughed but I know that those friendship bracelets sure have a striking resemblance to my macrame curtains.
I love my macrame curtains. They are in my dining room over the patio door. Perfect place for them I might add. These are macrame from the top heading down for about 12 inches, then they turn into the most beautiful lace curtains you have ever seen. I have a considerable amount of panels because I have a large doorway. This isn't uncommon because lace is so delicate and fine; it is usually nice to double up on what is needed. On top of that I have a gorgeous macrame scarf valance that is placed beautifully over the top. This is a beautiful dining room setting.
Macrame curtains come in many styles and color choices to fill even the most fussy persons needs. I like the ones with a combination of other material such as lace or sheers. Usually, you can even get these specially ordered for those special needs. Any room with macrame curtains has a certain flare of the old, yet a flare for the modern day conveniences. These are extra nice because they can be washed in the convenience of your home - unlike drapes.
